語源
abolishment は abolish + -ment で、abolish はラテン語 abolere「取り除いて消す、廃する」に由来します。abolition や abolishable も同根で、ただ止めるのでなく「存在そのものをなくす」感覚があるので、「廃止」という強い意味になるわけです。
