abouts は about のくだけた形で、語源は古英語 onbūtan「周囲に・あたりに」。a- は on の弱化形、-bout は『外側・周辺』の感覚を含み、about や roundabout も同系です。もともと『その周りをめぐって』から、『〜について』という話題の意味へ広がりました。
Abouts is an informal form of about, which comes from Old English onbūtan, meaning "around" or "in the area of."
