語源
construction はラテン語 con-「共に」+ struct「積む」+ -ion「こと」で、原義は『部材を積み上げること』。struct は struere「築く」にさかのぼり、structure や instruct と同根なので、『建設』が『要素を組み立てて形にすること』だと分かる。
