語源
discernable は discern + -able で、discern は古フランス語を経てラテン語 discernere「見分ける」に由来します。dis-「離して」+ cernere「選り分ける」が核で、discernment や certain と同根のため、「区別して分かる」すなわち識別可能なという意味です。
