語源
distort はラテン語 distortus に由来し、dis-「ばらばらに」＋ torquere「ねじる」から成る。原義は「ねじって形を崩す」で、そこから事実や意味をゆがめる比喩が生まれた。torque や contort も同根で、ねじれが核心にある。
