localisation は local「場所の」と -isation「〜化」から成る語で、local はフランス語・中世ラテン語 localis を経て、ラテン語 locus「場所」に由来します。つまり「ある場所向けに合わせること」で、意味が納得しやすい語です。関連語は local, locate です。
