字面は「十回中九回」だが、厳密な九割ではなく、ほとんどの場合そうなるという意味で使う。助言、経験則、予測でよく使われ、かなり高い可能性を自然に示せる。直訳だけで判断せず、前後の文脈で人や状況への評価として読むのが大切である。
