生物発生説
解説 Definition
生物は無生物から自然に生じるのではなく、すでに存在する生物からのみ生まれるとする生物学上の原則・学説。自然発生説に対立する概念で、パスツールらの研究によって支持され、近代生物学の基礎の一つとなった。
Biogenesis is the idea that living things come only from other living things. It is a scientific term used in biology and in the history of science. It is often discussed in contrast to older beliefs that life could appear from non-living matter.
