ある事柄に強く関心を抱き、ほかのことが目に入らないくらい集中している状態を指します。取り組んでいる活動や話題に完全に注意を向け、周囲の音や時間の感覚を忘れるほどです。
If someone is engrossed, they are giving all their attention to something and are deeply interested in it. It is often used when a person is so focused that they notice little else around them. The word usually describes a temporary state of strong concentration.
