presenting は present に進行・名詞化の -ing が付いた形で、present は古フランス語 presenter を経てラテン語 praesentare「目の前に差し出す」に由来します。prae-「前に」＋ esse「ある」の発想から「人前に示す」となり、同根語に presence, represent があります。
