un- が付くと「反対・否定」になり、suited は suit「合う・似合う」から来るので、まず suited =「向いている」を押さえると unsuited はその逆と取りやすいです。be suited to ... と be unsuited to ... を対で覚えると定着します。clothes suit you の「似合う」と同じ感覚で、仕事・役割・環境にしっくり合わないときの語です。not suitable は単に「適切でない」寄りですが、unsuited は能力や性格まで含めて「その人・その物には向かない」と感じる場面で出やすい、と区別すると残りやすいです。
Think of `suit` in `That job suits her` or `That color suits you`. `Suited` means a good match, so `unsuited` is the opposite. It sticks well if you learn the pair `be suited to` / `be unsuited to`.

unsuited の語源・成り立ち Etymology
unsuited は un-「否定」+ suited「適した」。suit は古フランス語 suite を経てラテン語 sequi「従う」にさかのぼり、「状況に従って合う」が核です。だから unsuited は「合わない」で、suite や suitable も同じ根です。
Unsuited was formed in English from un- "not" and suited. Suit came through Old French from Latin sequi, meaning "to follow," and it developed the sense of fitting what follows a situation or need. From that idea of being suitable or fitting, unsuited came to mean not fitting or not matching. Related words include suite and suitable.
