解説 Definition
酸性度は液体がどれだけ酸性かを示す性質です。ペーハー値で計測し、値が低いほど酸味が強いことになります。酸性度は飲み物や土壌などの味わいや化学反応に影響するため、製品の評価でよく観察されます。
Acidity is the quality of being acidic or sour. It is often used when talking about food and drinks, chemistry, or stomach conditions, and it can describe either taste or chemical strength.

acidityはラテン語 acidus「すっぱい・鋭い」に、状態を表す接尾辞 -ity が付いた語。acidic や acidify も同じ acid- を持ち、味の「刺すような鋭さ」がそのまま酸味という意味に育ったと分かる。
Acidity comes from Latin acidus, meaning "sour" or "sharp," with the noun ending -ity. The root acid- also appears in acidic and acidify. The original sense was the sharp, biting quality of a sour taste, and that idea stayed central as the word developed.
