汗の分泌を抑える化学物質を含む製品。アルミニウム化合物などが含まれ、汗を遮断する。
Antiperspirant is a product that helps reduce sweating, especially under the arms. It is usually used as a spray, roll-on, or stick. It is different from deodorant, which mainly helps control body odor.

anti- は「反対・防止」、perspire は「汗をかく」、-ant は「その働きをするもの」と切ると形で覚えやすい。deodorant が体臭ケアで、antiperspirant は汗そのものを抑えるもの、という対比が強い記憶フックになる。実際に売り場でも deodorant / antiperspirant と並びやすい。perspiration が「発汗」を表すので、stop perspiration する製品だと考えると意味がぶれない。制汗スプレー、ロールオンなど使用場面ごとに結びつけると定着する。
