exploitable は exploit + -able「…できる」。exploit は古フランス語経由でラテン語 explicare「広げる」に連なり、ex-「外へ」+ plicare「折る」が核です。『たたんだものを広げて使う』感覚から利用する、悪用可能へ進み、explicit も同根です。
Exploitable is built from exploit and the ending -able, meaning "able to be." Exploit came through Old French and goes back to Latin explicare, literally "to unfold," from ex- "out" and plicare "to fold."
