辺境、国境地帯
解説 Definition
国家や定住地域の外縁にある、開拓や統治が十分に及んでいない境界の地域を指す。歴史では移住・植民・防衛と結びついて語られやすく、しばしば文明圏の端として描かれる。線としての国境そのものではなく、その周辺一帯を含む語感がある。
