哺乳類の雌の生殖細胞で、受精によって胚となる卵のこと。
An ovum is a female reproductive cell, also called an egg cell. In biology and medicine, it is the cell that can develop into an embryo after it joins with a male cell. This word is mainly used in scientific contexts.
