link は、ウェブページなどをつなぐリンクという意味です。日本語の「リンク」とほぼ同じですが、英語では物事同士のつながりを表す名詞としても使われます。
A clickable element or address that takes a user to another webpage, file, or online location. More generally, it can also mean a connection or relationship between people, things, events, or ideas.

The noun link originally referred to one ring or section of a chain. It is related to forms found in Scandinavian and Germanic languages, including Old Norse hlekkr, “chain link.” From the physical object, the word developed the abstract sense of something that connects two people, facts, or events. In computing and the World Wide Web, it was naturally adopted for an element that connects one document or location to another.
