解説 Definition
ローミングとは、携帯電話やデータ通信において、契約している通信会社のサービス提供エリア外でも他社の通信網を使ってサービスを利用できる機能のことである。海外旅行や国内の遠隔地でも通話やデータ通信が可能になる仕組みであり、通常は追加料金が発生することが多い。また、コンピュータネットワーク上でユーザーが任意の端末からデータにアクセスできる「ローミングプロファイル」という意味でも使われる。
