singles は single（単独のもの、シングル曲など）の複数形です。音楽では複数のシングル曲、スポーツでは個人戦を指すことがあります。
Plural of single, referring here mainly to individual songs released separately rather than as part of an album. In sports, the same plural form can also name competitions played by one person against another, as opposed to doubles.

Singles is the plural of single. Single entered English through Old French from Latin singulus, meaning “one apiece” or “individual.” Its central idea has remained that of one person or thing considered separately. From this developed the musical noun for a separately released recording and the sporting noun for play involving one competitor on each side. The plural ending -s allows the word to refer to several recordings or to the sporting category collectively.
