Thursday is the day of the week after Wednesday and before Friday. It is one of the seven days in a week. The name is usually written with a capital letter.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
曜日名はどれも -day で終わるので、Thursday もまず「何か + day」の仲間として覚える。実際によく見るのは予定表やメールの Thu. / Thurs. で、フルスペルより略形から入ると定着しやすい。特に Tue.（火）と見間違えやすいので、火曜は短い Tue、木曜は h と r を含む長めの Thu(r)sday と対で区別する。every Thursday, next Thursday の形で、水曜の次・金曜の前という位置と一緒に覚えると残りやすい。

Thursday は古英語 Thunresdaeg、つまり「雷神ソールの日」に由来し、Thunor/Thor + day に分けられます。thunder と同系の語根をもつため、「木曜」がもとは雷鳴の神に捧げる日だったとわかると、曜日名が神話の名残だと腑に落ちます。
