Ungrammatical means not following the grammar rules of a language. It is used for sentences, phrases, or word forms that sound incorrect, even if the meaning is still understandable.

`grammatical` が「文法に合った」なので、先頭に否定の `un-` が付いて「文法に合っていない」と取れる。まず `grammar` を知っていれば連想しやすい語。使う場面は、英作文や言語学で「意味は通じても形がルール違反」の文を指すとき。`wrong` よりも「文法面で不適切」という限定が強く、`awkward` が「不自然」、`ungrammatical` が「文法違反」と分けて覚えると定着しやすい。
Connect it to grammar and grammatical. If grammatical means correct by grammar rules, ungrammatical means the form breaks those rules. It is useful to compare it with awkward: awkward can sound unnatural, but ungrammatical is more strictly about grammar mistakes.
