多国間主義、または複数国の協力。多くの国々の間での外交的協力を指します。
Multilateralism is the idea or practice of several countries working together on shared international issues. It is common in politics and diplomacy, especially in discussions about agreements, organizations, and global problems.

multi- は multiple の multi と同じ「多い」、lateral は bilateral（2国間の）で見たことがあれば「当事者の側」を連想すると覚えやすいです。multilateral は「多くの側が参加する」→複数の国が関わる、という感覚。ここに -ism が付くと「考え方・主義」になるので、multilateralism は「一国だけで動かず、多国で協調して進める立場」。multilateral talks, multilateral cooperation のような外交文脈でよく出ます。unilateralism（単独主義）、bilateralism（二国間主義）と並べて区別すると定着しやすいです。
