解説 Definition
黒色で粘り気のある石油由来の物質で、道路舗装や防水材に使われる名詞です。天然にも産出し、原油の蒸留残渣としても得られます。アスファルト混合物では石や砂を結びつける結合剤として働き、日本語では「瀝青」ともいいます。
