学術文献の脚注などで、直前の引用と同じ出典を示す略語。「同上」の意で、ラテン語 ibidem に由来する。ページが異なる場合は「ibid., p. 25」のようにページ番号を添えることがある。

Ibid. points back to the immediately preceding citation and means “in the same place.” Use that direct backward link as the memory key: instead of repeating the same author and title, a writer inserts ibid. If the cited page changes, a page number may follow it, depending on the citation style. Do not treat ibid. as a vague substitute for any earlier source; an intervening citation can break the reference. Many current style systems limit or avoid it, so always follow the required citation guide.
