Incompressible means not able to be made smaller by pressure. It is mainly used in physics, engineering, and mathematics, especially for substances like liquids that change very little in volume when squeezed.

まず中心の compress を「圧縮する」と押さえると、computer の compressed file や air is compressed の感覚につながります。そこに in- が付くので「圧縮できない」。さらに -ible は visible, possible と同じ「〜できる」で、全体は「縮めることができない」という形です。liquid is nearly incompressible のように液体・流体の性質でよく使い、単に hard「硬い」とは違って、圧力をかけても体積がほぼ変わらない点を意識すると定着しやすいです。
