A logician is a person who studies or uses logic, especially careful reasoning and clear argument. This word is often used in philosophy, mathematics, and formal thinking. It can also describe someone who is very skilled at thinking in a systematic way.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
logician は logic を知っていればかなり覚えやすい語です。語尾の -ian は musician, historian, librarian などと同じで「その分野の人」。つまり logic + -ian で「論理を専門にする人」と分解できます。philosopher が広く「哲学者」なのに対し、logician は formal logic や reasoning を専門にする、ぐっと絞った肩書き。a famous logician, study with a logician などの形で見かけます。logistician（兵站担当者）とつづりが似るので混同注意。
Break `logician` into `logic` + `-ian`. The ending `-ian` often means a person in a field, like `musician` or `historian`. Be careful not to mix it up with `logistician`, which looks similar but belongs to a very different field.
