morrowは古英語morgen「朝」にさかのぼる語で、ゲルマン語系に属します。もとは「朝」が中心で、そこから「次の朝」つまり「明日」へ意味が寄りました。mornやmorningも同根で、朝が来ること自体が翌日を表したと分かります。
