oxidizing は oxidize（酸化する、酸化させる）の現在分詞・動名詞です。物質が酸素と反応したり、電子を失ったりする化学変化を表すときに使われます。
Oxidizing describes a substance undergoing oxidation or causing another substance to oxidize. In chemical terms, this involves losing electrons and may, but does not necessarily, involve a direct reaction with oxygen.
