解説 Definition

非常に強い恐怖を感じている状態。単なる afraid よりも恐怖の程度が強く、of や that節を伴うことが多い。

Feeling extremely afraid. It expresses much stronger fear than ordinary worry and often appears with of or a clause beginning with that.
