人が親しみやすく、話しかけやすい性質を持つこと。相手に対して心を開かせるような温かさや優しさがある。
Approachable describes a person who seems friendly, open, and easy to talk to. It can also describe something, such as a subject or design, that feels easy to understand or deal with.

approachable は approach に -able が付いた語で、approach は古フランス語経由でラテン語 ad-「〜へ」+ prope「近く」にさかのぼります。つまり「近づける」人から「親しみやすい」と広がった語で、proximity や approximate も近さの語です。
