colorimetric は colori-「色」と -metric「測る」から成り、ラテン語 color とギリシャ語 metron「尺度」が土台です。meter や geometric も同じ metron を含み、「色そのものを感覚でなく測定値として比べる」ので比色分析の意味がすっと入ります。
