解説 Definition
dragging は drag（引きずる、ドラッグする）の現在分詞・動名詞です。画面上でマウスなどを使って物を移動する意味にも、物を引きずる意味にも使われます。
Moving an on-screen item by holding it with a mouse, finger, or similar control and pulling it to another position. More generally, the form can describe pulling something along a surface with continuous effort.

Dragging is the -ing form of drag. Because drag has one stressed short vowel followed by one final consonant, the g is doubled before -ing. Computer use extends that same action: select a file or icon, keep the mouse button or finger down, and pull it to a new position. Common instructions include dragging an icon to the left and dragging a file into a folder.
