Ethics is the study of what is morally right and wrong, or the principles that guide good behavior. It is often used when talking about business, medicine, science, or personal decisions. It focuses on fairness, responsibility, and how people should act.

ethics は「何が正しく、何が間違っているかを考える原則や学問」として覚えます。ethical（倫理的な）は関連語ですが、ethics が ethical に -ics を付けてできた語だと考える必要はありません。business ethics（企業倫理）、medical ethics（医療倫理）、code of ethics（倫理規定）のように、個人だけでなく職業や組織の行動規範にもよく使われます。ethnic（民族の）とは形が似ていますが別語です。
