Falsetto is a very high singing voice, usually used especially by male singers. It sounds lighter and thinner than a person's normal voice and is common in music and vocal performance.

falsetto は false を知っていると覚えやすいです。「本来の地声そのものではない、もう一段高い声」という感覚で結びつけると定着します。歌の文脈で sing in falsetto, switch to falsetto のように、「高音が必要で声の出し方を切り替える」場面に置くのがコツです。chest voice や full voice と対比して、「強く張る高音」ではなく「軽く細く抜ける裏声寄りの高音」と覚えると、単なる high voice との違いも見分けやすくなります。
