解説 Definition
法廷の手続きに問題があったり、陪審団に不公正な扱いがあったりした場合に、判決の前に裁判が無効と宣告されることを指します。裁判はやり直されます。
A mistrial is a trial that is ended by a judge before a final decision is reached because of a serious problem in the legal process. This can happen if the jury cannot agree or if there is unfair treatment in court. After a mistrial, the case may be tried again.
