hemorrhagicはギリシャ語haima「血」+ rhegnynai「破る、噴き出す」を土台にしたhemorrhageに、形容詞語尾-icが付いた語です。hemorrhageやhematologyと同じhemo-/hemat-「血」を含み、血が破れて流れ出る像が「出血性の」という意味を支えます。
