modeling は model（模型を作る、モデル化する）の動名詞・現在分詞で、モデリング、模型作り、モデル化という意味です。日本語の「モデリング」と同じく3D制作や分析で使いますが、英語では考え方や行動を手本として示す意味にも使われます。
