統計学で、母集団の分布形や少数の固定的なパラメータを強く仮定しない手法を指します。順位や中央値を使う方法も代表例ですが、それだけに限られるわけではありません。
Nonparametric describes a method, especially in statistics, that does not depend on fixed assumptions about the form of the data. It is commonly used in mathematics, data analysis, and research. The word is technical and usually appears before nouns such as "test" or "method."
