まず核は reconstruct。rebuild より少し硬く、「壊れたもの・失われた形を、部品や情報をもとに組み直す」感覚があります。そこに -ive が付くと「そのための／そういう性質の」となり、reconstructive は「再建・修復を目的とする」。特に reconstructive surgery のように、見た目を飾る cosmetic ではなく、損傷後に機能や形を取り戻す場面で覚えると定着しやすいです。constructive（建設的な）と混同せず、re- があるので“元に戻す方向”だと押さえるのがコツです。
Start from `reconstruct`: `re-` means again, and `construct` means build. So `reconstructive` has the idea of building something back, not just creating something new. Compare it with `constructive`, which does not have the `re-` idea of restoring.
