post「投稿する」を知っていれば覚えやすい語です。先頭の re- は rewrite, replay, rebuild と同じ「もう一度」の印なので、repost は「すでに出た投稿をもう一回出す」と取れます。share が広く「共有する」なのに対し、repost は元の内容を載せ直す感覚が強め。repost a photo/post/article で覚えると定着しやすいです。コメントを添えるなら quote-post に近く、report と綴りが似ている点も要注意です。
Start from `post`, then add `re-`, the same "again" idea as in `rewrite` or `replay`. So `repost` means putting the same content out again, not just sharing it in a general way. Be careful not to mix it up with the similar spelling of `report`.

reposts は repost の複数形で、re-「再び」と post「投稿する」からできた語。re- はラテン語由来、post はもと郵便で「送る」の語から発展し、reposted や reposting も同系なので、「載せたものをもう一度出す」がそのまま再投稿になる。
"Reposts" is the plural or third-person form of repost, made from re- "again" and post.
