To reschedule means to change the planned time or date of an event, meeting, or activity. It is commonly used in work, school, travel, and appointments. The event is still expected to happen, but at a different time.
覚え方のコツ Memory Tip
schedule が分かればすぐつながる語です。先頭の re- は rewrite, rebuild と同じ「もう一度・やり直し」。だから reschedule は「予定をいったん消して終わり」ではなく、「別の日時で組み直す」と覚えると残ります。cancel は中止、postpone は先送り、reschedule は新しい日時へ再設定する感じ。会議・診察・面談でよく使い、reschedule a meeting / appointment / flight の形をまとめて押さえると実戦で思い出しやすいです。
