解説 Definition
石や木、粘土などの素材を削ったり盛ったりして立体作品を作ることを指す語。手で細部を整えながら形に仕上げる響きがあり、比喩的には経験や工夫が人の性格や計画、考え方を少しずつ形作る場合にも使われる。
To sculpt means to shape a material such as clay, wood, stone, or metal into a form, especially as art. It can also mean to carefully shape something, such as the body, hair, or a surface.
