Unclassified means not officially marked as secret or restricted. It is often used for government or military information that can be shared more openly. In some contexts, it can also mean not placed into a specific group or category.

まず un- は「〜でない」。classified は classify（分類する・区分指定する）の形容詞形で、日常英語の "classified ad" よりも、ニュースや公文書では「機密区分に入れられた」という意味で出やすいです。したがって unclassified は「その指定がない」→「非機密」。unclassified information / document / report の形でまとめて覚えると強いです。単なる「未分類」と取り違えず、secret や confidential の反対側にある語として押さえるのがコツです。
