Undescribed means not described or not yet given a formal description. It is often used in academic or scientific writing for things that have been noticed but not explained in detail. The word can also mean that something has not yet been officially identified or documented.

`undescribed` はまず `described`「説明された・記述された」が土台で、そこに否定の `un-` が付いた形と押さえると覚えやすいです。`describe` を知っていれば「まだ説明文が与えられていない状態」と自然に取れます。特に生物学では `an undescribed species` の形が頻出で、「未記載種」の文脈と結び付けると定着しやすいです。`unknown` は単に“知られていない”、`undescribed` は“正式な記述がまだない”という違いにも注意すると混同しにくくなります。
