Unitarianism is a religious belief system that teaches that God is one being, rather than three persons in the Trinity. The word is mainly used in discussions of religion, theology, and the Unitarian movement.

まず語の形を3つに分けると覚えやすいです。uni- は universe, unique などと同じく「一つ」、-arian は「〜に属する人・立場」、-ism は「主義・思想」。つまり unitarianism は『一つであるという立場』。宗教文脈では Trinity（三位一体）の tri-「三」と対比すると定着しやすく、「三ではなく一を強調する考え」と整理できます。unit, unity, union の仲間だと見ておくと、細かい定義を忘れても核の意味を外しにくくなります。
