解説 Definition
Aegean は、ギリシャとトルコの間にあるエーゲ海や、その周辺の地域・島々を指します。名詞の前に置いて、その海や地域に関連することも表せます。
The Aegean is the sea between Greece and Turkey, or the region and islands associated with it. Aegean can also modify a noun to describe something belonging to that sea or area, and it is normally capitalized.

Modern English uses Aegean as both the shortened name of the sea and an adjective for the surrounding region.
