金床
解説 Definition
金床とは金属を鍛造するときに使う、重くて平らな上面を持つ鉄製の台です。鍛冶職人がハンマーで素材を打ち付けるときに金床が衝撃を受け止めるので、熱した鋼を効率よく叩いて形を整えられます。用途や加工する金属に応じて大きさや角部の形が異なり、据え置き型や可搬型などを使い分けて作業します。
