Diffusivity is a scientific term for how easily or quickly something such as heat, particles, or molecules spreads through a material. It is mainly used in physics, chemistry, and engineering.

diffusivity は diffuse「広がる」+ -ity「性質」で、diffuse はラテン語 diffundere に由来します。dif-「四方へ」+ fundere「注ぐ」が核なので、拡散率は「どれだけ外へ注ぎ広げるか」の度合い。infuse や transfuse も同根です。
