dimension を知っていれば、そのまま「次元・寸法・規模に関する」という形容詞だと押さえやすい。語尾 -al は natural, cultural と同じで「〜に関する」を作る定番なので、dimension + al と分けて見るのがコツ。three-dimensional なら「3次元の」、multi-dimensional なら「多面的な」。名詞は dimension、形容詞は dimensional。つづりが近い dim「薄暗い」とは無関係なので混同しない。数学・物理・設計で dimensional analysis, dimensional change などの形で出やすい。
