Disqualifications are decisions or conditions that stop someone from being allowed to compete, join, or continue in something. The word is common in sports, contests, legal situations, and job selection. It can refer both to official removal and to reasons that make someone unsuitable.

Build it from `qualify` and `qualification`. If `qualify` means meeting the conditions, then `dis-` gives the opposite direction: losing or removing that status. Think of sports or contests where a player is out because of a rule violation, not because they simply lost.
